The Feldenkrais Method is a mindful practice involving movement and imagery that facilitates well-being and clarifies action. Lessons in the Feldenkrais Method are taught verbally, called "Awareness Through Movement®," and through touch, called "Functional Integration®."
Many artists have studied the Feldenkrais Method, including violinist Yehudi Menuhin, cellist Yoyo Ma, dancer Paul Taylor, and director Peter Brook. It has been taught at Ithica College School of Music, Julliard School, Berkeley College of Music, Northern Illinois University School of Music, Eastman School of Music, and The Theater School at DePaul University.
Psychologist Norman Doidge's book The Brain That Heals Itself extensively features the work of Moshé Feldenkrais as a significant development in neuroplasticity. Leading motor development scientist Dr. Esther Thelen embraced the work.
Scientific research on the Feldenkrais Method can be found here.
The Feldenkrais Method®, Functional Integration® and Awareness Through Movement® are registered marks of the Feldenkrais Guild of North America.
